Description
Step into the warmth of ORANGE with October’s edition of Spectrum Stories – A Year Through the Colour Wheel. This month we explore the beautiful versatility of the orange spectrum — from soft peach and apricot through vibrant tangerine and pumpkin to earthy terracotta, burnt orange and rich rust. Warm, expressive and full of life, October is all about discovering how different shades within one colour family can change the mood of our pages. Throughout this month’s creative journey, we’ll build our pages using layered foundations, collage, paint, mark-making, pattern and texture, combining different shades and values of orange with crisp black and white details to create contrast and depth. Orange can feel playful and energetic, soft and nostalgic, weathered and earthy, or bold and dramatic. October gives us the freedom to explore all of these personalities as we continue building our Spectrum Stories journal. Expect painterly marks, organic circles, grids, distressed details, abstract imagery and beautifully layered mixed-media elements. We’ll experiment, build texture and allow each layer to become part of the story rather than striving for perfection. As always, Spectrum Stories is about more than colour. It is about slowing down, creating intuitively and allowing our art to hold pieces of our own story. Each month adds another chapter to our evolving journal as we make our way around the colour wheel — and October brings a wonderfully warm, rich and expressive chapter in orange. Tell your story in colour. Welcome to October — where every shade of orange has a story to tell.
